Watching the epic fireworks throughout the escalation of the Giant is enough to make anyone wanna go out and find their own piece that tips up...PTown ain't no Provence but we've got Larch and a TT up the 3K some foot ele gain over the 16miles on Sunday felt like the right thing to do. No records set but the SV moved nicely in my first cat3 start...and all before the real temps blanketed the city and the dwellers scampered to whatever water they could find.
Monday was another scorcher...how hard can 30 minutes really hurt anyways? The DeSalvo slimmed down to sub17 with the Furious Freds mounted and aired, ready for the hard dry dirt that the course revealed last year...how did I miss the memo that mentioned 'mud romp'? Fires hoses cooling it all off nicely while at the same time turning portions of the superfun motoXcourse into a slopfest...54%...that's about the amount of time I actually was upright pedaling....dress shoes on frozen lake, ballbearing walk in your slippers...you got the idea. At least a half dozen times down and just shy of catching the two leaders that slipped away somewhere in the pigs den...let's just say the knobbies are already mounted for next week's final and I'll be sure to keep the redcones on the right, the yellow on the left...Goodstuff out there for sure...CX is nearing....just gotta get this winter trip outta the way....Photo thanks here....
